Dr. Sperber is the CEO of Active Group - serving as managing director since January 2014.

Dr. Michael Sperber is an internationally recognized expert in all aspects of functional programming and architecture, and author of numerous publications and several books on this topic, most recently Schreibe Dein Programm (together with Herbert Klaeren, Tübingen University Press, 2023). He is co-founder of the developer conference BOB and the ACM SIGPLAN Workshop on Functional Software Architecture - FP in the Large.

Dr. Sperber is a member and accredited trainer of the iSAQB, where he participates in the development of the Foundation Level curriculum and is co-author of the curricula for Functional Software Architecture (FUNAR), Domain-Specific Languages (DSL), and Formal Methods (FM).
